Keeping Pets & Families Together

Blockhead Brigade's Safety Net program works to provide the resources community members need to keep their pets safe with their loving families and out of the shelter or other unfortunate circumstances. Can you help us help them? We are a 501c3 Nonprofit (EIN #86-3579884) and rely on donations to help provide resources to the community.

 

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

We connect with individuals who are facing challenges that impact their ability to care for and keep their pet safe. Often, community members face housing instability and housing discrimination. Other enormous challenges faced are the inability to pay for emergency medical care or basic supplies and behavior challenges.

 

The resources we provide to help keep families together include help with housing issues, assistance with behavior challenges, help with medical and other care expenses, problem solving and navigating other community resources. We provide these resources both at Long Beach Animal Care Services and remotely, out in the community. 

 

With the overwhelming number of pets flowing into the shelters, this kind of community support program is essential. Not only does it prevent families from being ripped apart, it helps save money, lives and and and unending cycle of suffering that impacts so many.
